How to apply
Domestic Students - Applications for the University's undergraduate courses are made though the Universities Admission Centre (UAC). On-time applications for the March semester close on the last working day of September. There is no mid year intake. International Students - If you are an international student, there are 3 methods of applying to the University. 1. Directly to the University through the International Office. 2. Through a University representative (agent). 3. Course description
This degree prepares students, and leads to registration, for a profession as pharmacists.
In First Year students take biology and chemistry, together with introductory pharmacy units of study. Courses in Second Year include life sciences, drug discovery and design, microbiology, formulation, therapeutic principles and introduction to pharmacy practice. In Third Year studies include the following themes: neurology, gastroenterology, oncology/immunology, dermatology, musculoskeletal, renal, urogenital, reproductive and multiple systems pathology. In Fourth Year, students undertake units of study in management, therapeutics in practice, clinical placements, integrated pharmacy practice and advanced pharmaceutical sciences. Studies involve clinical practice externships spent on assignments at health professional locations. Students undertaking the Rural Major will study indigenous health issues, rural and remote health care and will undertake their clinical practice externship in a rural area. Advanced (Honours) study is available in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology and Pharmacy Practice for invited students.
